ANSWER THE QUESTION... How can I get simulation answers quickly? Throughout the process, our designer constantly had questions regarding the integrity of the design. Quick turn-around times of simulation requests resulted in a tight feedback loop that significantly improved the design and reduced Pitzer Consulting’s liability.
The example at left shows the truss base plate in four different configurations for an extreme load case. Given the environment it could possibly be subjected to, we decided to increase the base plate size from ¼ inch to ½ inch by adding a doubler and increasing the bolt hardware from ¼ inch to ½ inch. |
