ANSWER THE QUESTION...Will this long steel structure deflect too much?
One of the most significant concerns during the design phase was whether the side floor would deflect so much as to cause the mechanism to operate inappropriately. Based on feedback from studies like this one, we were able to design a stiffening member before problems arose.
